Polycraft Review, Gameplay and Tips to Play

Have you recently visited the Chrome Apps Store? Polycraft, a new free-to-play strategy world game via Turbulenz is waiting for you right there. It’s a simple browser-based game which you can control it through your mouse with a multiple set of actions stacked up for the players. Press the start button and you’ll find yourself busy with building bases, collecting resources and participating in mega wars. The game has both the intrigue and trick which needs a totally absorbent mind with fast moving fingers and an open thought process before each click. Better be careful, as you are now a inhabitant of an exquisite island with wonders to explore and a precarious loop to deal.

Storyline

The story line of Polycraft is quite short and simple pivoting on an anonymous Hero who gets washed ashore when his ship got sunken. Once you are familiar with handling this hero, a crew of a fumbler and a group of tiny Wildlings will accompany you. They are quite friendly in nature and if you promise to guard their village from the trouble-making neighbouring feral Wildlings, your ones will allow you to stay with them.

Initially you find the Wildlings village to be quite empty and underprivileged, but that is what will make the base for you to build up your scoreboard against your enemies. You will find plenty of stones and woods in the island, which are very useful resources required for your construction. The Hero has the task of collecting these resources through hiking around the island. He may also have to cut down the trees and demolish the rocks for this purpose. Once he is done with it, he has to transport these materials to the base. But that is not going to be a one-time job, as he is limited with only 60 pieces of wood and stone at a time. So he may have to repeat the whole set of actions quite a number of times. Fortunately the flora is auto-generated, so he would never be falling short of resources. After his completion of resource collection, he needs to start up the construction work.

Polycraft is a game based on tower defence. So the major part of the game will include building projectile towers, barriers and other defence related stuff that will protect the friendly Wildlings from the feral bodies. You have to keep renovating your construction to make room for new defences and add storage space. The entire workload is shred among the Wildlings to assist the Hero in erecting the defence construction.
When all the basic construction part is done with, a player can choose to inform a Bannerling to initiate and declare the war. Each part of the battle will consist of enemies of a specific type along with a row of reward items like stone, wood and experience points. Sometimes you can achieve all three of them together. You have the target of defeating all the Wildling waves, and if you can do it, you are the winner along with the rewards. But you lose the game if your Headquarter is taken over and then you are left with no other choice than looking for repair-works.

Wrap-up

Overall Polycraft is never disappointing as it will allow bestowing defeat rather than losing the entire battle. The currency here is quite easy flowing. The visuals are marvellous with cute little characters that work hard with simple actions. The only shortfall of the game is the restricted usage of construction materials and scarce information flow on the building guidelines. You need to spend high currency and a huge amount of time to upgrade your construction. However, Polycraft adds up a fresh gaming experience with almost a perfect game strategy.

Changing your default browser is a little different to how it was before but it is not much difficult though it does require a few extra steps. Earlier, you could have just gone to the Options menu in your new browser and there could have selected "Make Default" to make the browser default but in Windows 10 this doesn't work and your default browser will still be Microsoft Edge.
