Review

On starting the software you will be greeted by a UI initiating you to make a bootable CD/DVD or USB drive. You can choose from the 5 recovery modules that this software provides:
  1. Undelete Recovery
  2. Damaged Partition Recovery
  3. Lost Partition Recovery
  4. Digital Media Recovery
  5. CD & DVD Recovery
Undelete Recovery is one tool that is the most simplest yet quite efficient in the task. If you have deleted any file by mistake whether by deleting it from the Recycle Bin or by using Shift+Delete then you can use this feature to recover it.
FYI, any file you 'delete' from your hard drive is not deleted from the system hardware. The system writes data on the hard drive and for navigation to that data keeps a reference to that memory in form of pointers. When you 'delete' any file only the references are removed but the data is not removed. It will be removed only when your hard drive needs to write some data and all free space is already used and it then overwrites this 'deleted' data. That is when the data becomes unrecoverable.
So, if your data has not been overwritten then you have very high chances that you will be able to recover this data by the use of Minitool Power Data Recovery.

Damaged Partition Recovery is the most powerful recovery module of Minitool Power Data Recovery. It focuses on recovering data from drives which have been deleted, corrupted or damaged. You might have encountered error message 'You need to format the disk in drive G: before you can use it. Do you want to format this drive?' after freshly installing a OS or when attaching a new memory drive which might be corrupted. It is not only capable to recover data from MBR type of storage but also Windows Dynamic Disk volume for example from Spanned volume, Striped volume or RAID implemented volumes.

Lost Partition Recovery is useful when your partition is lost due to deletion. This will happen only when you are tinkering with your hard drive partitions like when you are installing fresh OS.

Digital Media Recovery specifically focuses on recovery media files, that is, image, audio and video files. It can even recover some of the custom file types that are used by camera manufacturers like CRW and CR2 from Canon and SRF from Sony.

CD/DVD recovery is a recovery module you would probably use rarely nowadays but still if you need it, it is still available with Minitool Power Data Recovery.

The software has a easy to use wizard with which even a not-so-geeky person can easily use the features of this software and for all that you need to do is to boot the system with the recovery media. And if you are not sure about doing that either then there are guides for doing that too on Power Data Recovery.

How to get your Paytm account KYC verified

Paytm is the most used digital wallet in India right now and is now quite ingrained into the ecosystem of digital payments. After demonetization, it has got a very big boost and now even our local Kirana stores to office canteens accept payments through Paytm. However, recent RBI guidelines plan to bring a spanner into this seamless way of paying one another. All online wallets are now mandated to get the KYC of their users failing which the users won't be able to do wallet to wallet transactions nor will they be able to upload more than Rs.10,000 in their wallets within a specific month. Paytm has welcomed this guideline unlike many other smaller wallet operators and for the same has contract employed a large workforce to get the KYC done.

How to configure your router for ION broadband

My D-Link router has a bad habit of getting automatically reset sometimes. Then there is the issue that the service guy says that they provide support for TP-Link or Belkin routers but not for D-Link routers. Anyhow, the number of times our router just decides to reset is quite a lot to inconvenience the poor guy each time and further, that would mean that I too have to wait for broadband service to get restored until the technician comes to my house to restore the settings. So I decided to take this task in my own hand and it was a definitely a good decision because all it takes is around 2-3 minutes to do these settings. 1. Log in to your router You can access the settings page of your router by logging into it. To do so, first, connect to the router through Wifi or through LAN. Once connected use the URL: " http://192.168.0.1/ ". If the router is new or has been reset, you should not be asked for a password. If asked, either you should know your username password com...
